Here are two crafts that you can use for two bible stories in the bible. One story is Balaam the Talking Donkey, and the other is the Tower of Babel. You can find the scriptures here:
Balaam's Donkey: Numbers 22:21-38
Tower of Babel: Genesis 11:1-9
BALAAM'S DONKEY
You will need:
The Balaam's Donkey printable worksheet
Colors and markers
Scissors
A brown paper lunch bag
Glue or tape
Google eyes
For the Balaam's Donkey activity, have the children color and cut out each of the donkey's body parts. Help your child place each body part around the paper lunch bag. You will be making a puppet that opens and closes his mouth. Add google eyes to the face and the scripture speaking bubble on the front of the belly.
After the donkey is complete, allow the children to practice opening and closing its mouth. With my sons, I quoted the scripture Numbers 22: 38, " The Word that God puts in my mouth, that I must speak."
While I quoted this over and over, I had them move the donkey's mouth as if it was speaking the words. It was quite fun and the boys loved it!
TOWER OF BABEL
You will need:
The Tower of Babel printable worksheet
Colors and markers
Scissors
Glue or tape
Cotton Balls
For the Tower of Babel activity, have the children color and cut out the building pieces.
Next, glue and stack the pieces on the earth as if it is trying to reach the sun. Color the earth. Last, add cotton balls for the clouds. To add a little fun, you can ask your child to come up with their own made up language to say while they are stacking the building pieces. See if you can understand what your child is babbling. When I tried it with my boys, they could not stop laughing.
